The Purpose in the Pause

How many of you have doubted the length of time it is taking for you to accomplish a goal or get a job, get a new home, get into the university of your choice? I know I have been there.

You see many times, we are all caught up in the moment and the “need to get everything now”, that we forget we serve a mighty God and his timing is never our timing. There is always a purpose for the delay.

This pause, allows us to develop or grow in certain areas of our life that we may be lacking.  It is a time to develop: wisdom, tenacity, patience, courage, strength and so much more. Most times, we believe that we are ready, but the truth is, the pause is for a reason.

If you continue to push forward and don’t pause, you will realize that many of your life priorities that you could have overlooked, may very well disrupt how you prepare for your life journey ahead and therefore hinders your progress.

I recall having to redirect my energy in order to forge forward and it was so worth it.

Here are 4 nuggets you can use in this process:

  1. Mindset shift. You would have heard this time and time again; it is all in mind. Replace your negative thoughts with positive thought and positive affirmations.
  2. Gratitude.  Make a list of all the things you are grateful for. This list will help you to redirect your thought pattern.
  3. Take time to listen to the inner voice that guides you; it is never wrong. Do not listen to the naysayers. Keep focus on your goals. Also, remember to reward yourself with every small accomplishment. You deserve it!
  4. Look at the areas in your life that you need to develop. Once you have identified these areas, start to work on them.  These areas will work in your best interest and give you clarity as you move forward.

For those of you who are experiencing challenges in recognizing the Purpose in the Pause, I hope these nuggets help you. However, if you are having difficulties in this area and you would like my support, please send me an email at wo.mentowo.menservices@gmail.com and I would be more than happy to work with you.

  1. This was a wonderful piece Michelle. Very timely in our busy world. This is a reminder to stop and remind ourselves that Divine Order is ALWAYS in play.

    Thanks so much!
